Post-Abortion Support

Girls Support

The Pregnancy Resource Center is passionate about providing a safe place for healing and hope for women who are dealing with complicated emotions due to a past abortion experience.

You do not have to face this alone.

While not everybody experiences negative emotions after an abortion, some women do. Your choice of abortion may have affected you in ways you had not anticipated. Some of these normal responses can include:

  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Anniversary grief
  • Nightmares and flashbacks of the abortion
  • Relationship issues
  • Increase in dangerous or unhealthy activities (alcohol/drug abuse, cutting, casual sex, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, etc.)

This fall, the Pregnancy Resource Center of Saint John will be offering a free and confidential support group for women who want to heal from a past abortion experience.

“Living in Color” , written by Jenny McDermid, shares God’s immense desire to love and forgive your abortion wounds. This program will help you process your “forbidden grief”, and encourage you to work through your emotions. The final chapter celebrates emerging from the “grey zone” of unresolved grief into a life of color, freedom, and joy.

Living in Color Post Abortion

This will be a safe place where anonymity and confidentiality will be basic requirements by every member of the group. We understand that you may have fears or reservations, but we believe that when you share your past hurts, they have less power over you. Reminder: you only have to share as much as you are comfortable with.

Finally, being able to relate to a group of women on such a sensitive topic could be a significant turning point in your healing journey… as well as help you feel less alone.
